Experience:
Kris is the founder and clinical director at Building Bridges Christian Counseling. He supervises trainee and interns at several local churches, teaching therapists the integration of biblical truth and proven psychological methods. Kris has extensive experience providing counseling to couples, individuals and whole families; as well as his years working at Canyon Ridge Psychiatric Hospital, doing the initial diagnosis and assessment of incoming patients and facilitating outpatient group therapy for the mentally ill and substance abusers. He was a staff counselor at his home church, leading grief, divorce recovery and anger management groups, and teaches parenting classes, boundaries classes, and is a frequent speaker at marriage retreats, seminars, and workshops.

Education:
Kris graduated from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, earning a Master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Personal Information:
Known for his upbeat attitude and calming style, Kris and his lovely wife Gretchen have five children (for a couple of years they were all teenagers at the same time!) and eleven grandchildren. He has been active in his church since becoming a Christian over 30 years ago. He has taken groups of teens and adults to Mexico to build houses for the needy, and has taught every age Sunday school from preschool through college and adults, and has served as a church elder. For fun, he enjoys home improvement projects and fishing trips with his family.
